Take Care Counseling is owned by Lauren McCormick, a Licensed Clinical Social Worker. She began her work as a dementia therapist over five years ago at a Memphis-based neurology clinic.
There, she provides cognitive testing, psychometric rating for Alzheimer's medication research trials, and facilitates a caregiver support group. She was drawn to this field by a deep respect for the complexities of caregiving and the unique challenges faced by those living with cognitive changes. She encourages caregivers and individuals living with dementia to offer themselves something so often overlooked: grace. This path is not easy, but you don’t have to walk it alone—and you don’t have to have all the answers to begin.
When she is not working, Lauren can usually be found in her kitchen attempting an ambitious bake inspired by her favorite show, The Great British Bakeoff, spending time with her beloved nieces and nephews, or planning her next adventure as a world traveler.
